Getting to the Florida Keys.
From Orlando
Take the Florida Turnpike south to Fort Pierce on the East Coast and continue
through Ft. Lauderdale. Get off at Exit 4 (Homestead/Key West). This is the West
Dade Turnpike Extension (821) that ends at Florida City on US1, which leads to
Key Largo. US1 and the Overseas Highway are the same road and it continues
directly through the Keys to Key West.
From the West
Leaving Tampa, there are two routes: Take I-75 south to Naples, and then east
across Alligator Alley to the Miami Exit and south to the Turnpike Extension; or
US41 south to Naples, east to the Turnpike Extension and then south to US1.
From Miami International Airport
Take Le Jeune Road south to 836 West, going west to the Florida Turnpike
Extension (821), then south to US1 and the Keys.

Several major air carriers schedule regular service to both Key West and
Marathon airports. These include US Airways and ComAir (Delta), and American
Eagle Airlines. Many flights are routed through the Miami International Airport,
although some smaller airlines, such as Cape Air and private charters, schedule
direct flights from many major cities in Florida and the Bahamas. International
flights must connect to one of these airlines in Miami. Check with the airline
carrier for specific flight information. The Marathon Airport is located roughly
120 miles south of Miami. The Key West Airport is located about 180 miles
southwest of Miami International Airport. Both airports offer car rental
services.
